Around the EO world in 80 pages: membership organization looks back on its 34th year serving the world’s leading entrepreneurs

19 April, 2023 (Alexandria, VA, U.S.)- The non-profit Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) announces the publication of its FY2021-2022 Annual Report today, summarizing a year of learning, connection, innovation and growth. The Report offers an elevated look back at last year’s programmatic highlights, events and financials, and complements the release of the U.S.-registered 501(c)3 organization’s audited financial statements for FY2021/2022.

Last year’s Global Board Chair, David Anderson, a member of the EO Arizona chapter who has served in organizational leadership positions for 12 of his 13 years as a member, shared his reflections on a year that brought EO members back together in-person, after prolonged disruptions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We always knew that entrepreneurs drive the world’s economies, but in FY2021/2022 we helped drive the world’s recovery. As the fog of COVID cleared and we began to see each other again in-person, we found a renewed strength in our sense of community. Our network. Our fellowship.”

Interim CEO Deborah Rainey added, “During the pandemic, we used our resources to support members struggling, channeling more than 100 percent of their annual membership dues into helping entrepreneurs through an unprecedented time by drawing from our reserves. We reduced our dues, protected and enhanced our learning programmes, and launched new platforms.”

Among the year’s broad range of member offerings, EO’s Annual Report reflects on some of the year’s highlight moments, achievements, and indicators of organizational health, including:

  • 3,752 local, regional and global events organized and attended by EO members
  • 218 Chapter Strategy Summits to support chapter boards and chapter health
  • A 25th Global Leadership Conference simulcast live online and in two countries with members attending from 190 EO chapters
  • Luminary thought leaders headlining EO’s Powerhouse Speaker Series for members, including Jane Goodall, Trevor Noah, Adam Grant, Yang Lan, Muhammad Yunis

Built as a diverse, high-quality community for successful owners of small-to-midsize businesses with more than US$1million in annual revenue, EO’s member experience brings members along a journey of connection, learning and peer-supported growth. Its inspiring events, member Forums, Path of Leadership and Executive Education Programmes collectively contributed to a strong 92 percent member renewal rate for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

“This was a year that saw us emerging from perhaps one of the most challenging times we have faced as an organization. The focus for EO and many of our members’ companies was very much on survival. But standing still is not survival. To survive we must stretch, adapt and thrive. Entrepreneurs know this better than anyone,” said current Global Board Chair, and last year’s Chair-Elect, Marc Stöckli, a 14-year member of EO Zurich. He added, “I am filled with enormous pride for EO and I am eternally grateful for the dedication of my fellow members and our professional staff.”
